Affordable Connectivity Program
The Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) is a U.S. government program that helps many low income households pay for broadband service and internet connected devices.
You are likely eligible if your household’s income is below 200% of the Federal Poverty Line, or if you or someone you live with currently receives a government benefit like SNAP, Medicaid, SSI, WIC, Pell Grant, or Free and Reduced-Price Lunch.
If your household is eligible, you could receive:
Only one monthly service discount and one device discount is allowed per household. To receive the connected device discount, consumers need to enroll in the ACP with a participating provider that offers connected devices (Note: not all internet company offer device discounts.) The internet company will provide the discount to the consumer.

- Up to a $30/month discount on your internet service
- Up to a $75/month discount if your household is on qualifying Tribal lands
- A one-time discount of up to $100 for a laptop, tablet, or desktop computer (with a co-payment of more than $10 but less than $50)
- A low cost service plan that may be fully covered through the ACP*

What are the steps to applying?
- Make sure your household is eligible to receive the ACP's benefits.
- In order to receive the internet bill discount from the Affordable Connectivity Program, you must have an internet service to which the discount will be applied to. You can apply to an internet service before or after applying to the ACP to receive the discount or you can utilize your discount with your current internet service as long as they are participating internet service providers(ISPs). Make sure to check with your ISP if they are a participating company with the ACP.
- After verifying qualification and participating ISPs, you can now apply to the ACP at https://www.affordableconnectivity.gov/how-to-apply/. Make sure to have any relevant documents with you when applying. You can also apply via phone call at 1-877-384-2575.
- After you apply to the ACP, a national verifier will let you know if you qualify for the ACP and will give you an application ID (make sure to write down or save). If you apply online, there is a possibility you will be notified right away.
- Contact your internet service provider to apply your discount toward your bill.
Currently have Comcast Internet Essentials and want to apply?
- In order to apply for the Affordable Connectivity Program, you must have an internet service to which the discount will be applied to. If you currently have Comcast Internet Essentials, what is left is to make sure your household meets the other eligibility requirements.
- Before applying to the ACP, you have the option to contact Comcast to upgrade your service to the faster plan that is $29.95, which would still be covered by the ACP. For more information visit https://www.internetessentials.com
- Whether you choose to keep the $9.95 plan or upgrade, now you can apply to the ACP at https://www.affordableconnectivity.gov/how-to-apply/. Make sure to have any relevant documents with you when applying. You can also apply via phone call at 1-877-384-2575.
- After you apply to the ACP, a national verifier will let you know if you qualify for the ACP and will give you an application ID (make sure to write down or save).
- With that application ID/approval, you can now complete the Xfinity ACP enrollment form to receive your discount. You can do this online at https://www.internetessentials.com or call 1-855-846-8376.
